Paula Buford, TH.D. LPC
Pastoral Counselor/Psychotherapist

Support/therapy groups and art groups offer opportunities to learn more about yourself and make new friends. It's like holding a mirror up to yourself: you can see yourself through the eyes of others; learn about your positive and also self defeating patterns of being in relationship. You also have the opportunity to learn to confront others and give them constructive feedback.

At present, I am not offering any long term groups but I am open to beginning new groups upon request. I have experience in doing: grief groups (for adults and children), post divorce groups, long term therapy groups (process groups), The Artist's Way (journaling, creativity and spirituality), centering prayer/meditation groups, women's groups (with directed readings), groups on personal growth/spirituality (with reading), art lessons and/or spiritual direction with clay, and creative worship groups.

I offer workshops on "The Artist's Way" (journaling, creativity, and spirituality) quarterly at DeKalb Wellness Center, Decatur, GA. The next one is TBA.

For helping professionals, I offer art therapy consultations: "Have clay; will travel." I can bring my clay supplies (or collage supplies) to your office with work with individual clients/groups or give you supervision or lessons. I also offer lessons, individual and group, at my home pottery studio.

For helping professionals, I am offering a CEU workshop for therapists on September 26, 2014, from 10:45-3:45p.m.:"Wholehearted Living: The Healing Power of Play." Please see the flyer for more details
